The Village at Ashland Hills will be developed on the site of a former hotel that has reached the end of its useful life. The new development is oriented around a ‘village center’ similar to Ashland’s downtown Plaza, that creates a cohesive identity for the project. The village center buildings are positioned to highlight the existing mature landscaping and water features, and to frame views to natural landmarks including Pilot Rock, Grizzly Peak, and Pompadour.

The project takes advantage of the site’s natural grade to provide structured parking beneath some buildings, a key element in creating the intense mix of retail, office, and residential uses required to evoke the feel of a village center. A demonstration vineyard and adjacent tasting room highlight Southern Oregon’s growing wine industry, and are the cornerstones of the project’s focus on viticulture. This regional focus also provides the basis for the project’s Pacific Northwest design aesthetic.
