As part of ORW’s commitment to community service, we
have participated in a number of pro-bono design
projects over the years. Through our involvement, we
strive to provide free or reduced fee design services to
deserving non-profit agencies throughout southern
Oregon.
C.A.T.S. is a no-kill animal shelter which pays special
attention to the plight of stray and orphaned cats and
kittens in the Medford area. ORW was approached to help
the master planning and upgrade of the shelter’s campus
of buildings in west Medford.
The isolation building is a small, residential scale
structure designed to provide separate facilities for
the shelter’s intake and veterinary staff. Individual
spaces allow for arriving cats to be given health exams,
receive necessary care, and to be either quarantined or
prepared to enter the shelter’s resident population.
ORW provided all architectural and structural design
services at no cost to C.A.T.S., and continues to
provide observation as the project is currently under
construction.
