Drs. Layer & Henneman Dentistry | |
The clinic for Drs. Layer
and Henneman is located in a new business park on the
south side of Ashland. It is interesting in that it
features office space for a dental practice on the first
floor as well as two rental apartments on the second
level. The City of Ashland is a strong supporter of
mixed-use buildings and strongly encouraged the creation
of mixed use buildings with housing units throughout the
business park.
The office features 10 exam rooms and support spaces to
accommodate the busy practice. Each room is flooded with
natural light by large windows highlighting views to the
surrounding hills. Traditional detailing and generous
use of wood lend a calming residential feel to the
clinic. On the upper level, the two apartments feature
comfortable open floor plans and abundant natural light.
As on the interior, the exterior highlights traditional
Craftsman detailing common to the residential structures
in the surround area. Heavy timber and stone accent the
office entry and provide a stately street side presence.
